About me
Hi there, I'm Owen. I'm a principal engineer specialising in agentic engineering and developer enablement, with 11+ years delivering complex, large-scale software in enterprise environments. I set technical strategy, architect platforms and lead teams through significant modernisation.
Right now most of my work is AI-assisted engineering adoption: building an internal AI marketplace and playbook for engineering teams, made up of reusable plugins, agent skills, MCP servers, prompts, instructions and workflow patterns. The aim is simple: make it obvious how to do good work with agents, and make that the default rather than the exception.
I stay deeply hands-on. I've modernised a legacy .NET booking platform into containerised services in weeks rather than years using coding agents, and I lean on Claude Code and Copilot daily to build, review and ship. Underneath that sits a long background in cloud, architecture and technical leadership across React, Node, .NET, AWS, Azure and Terraform.
I've worked with Caesars Entertainment, leading teams delivering high-performance web and mobile experiences to millions of users across the US. Before that bp, where I led engineering teams to deliver a Fleet Management portal for their fuel card system, and Vodafone, where I introduced their new tech stack, founded their first component library, launched the VOXI startup, and led the first end-to-end sales chatbot in Telecomms.
My passion these days is AI and agentic workflows. I'm interested in how engineers and agents get the best out of each other, and in turning that into something whole teams can pick up and run with.
If you're interested in working together, feel free to reach out to me here: hey@owen.bio.
Experience
I've progressed from developer to Principal Engineer over a decade, leading engineering and, more recently, agentic ways of working across large organisations.
